'Mary' is the 2nd release from Folk-Rock / Americana duo Delta Howl.
Since coming together in late 2016 Grant Ashman and Mark Neat are looking to establish themselves as one of music’s most promising acts. Their debut single, 'Reach The Shore' (March 17th) got rave reviews from the likes of Classic Rock Magazine ' a 4 minute slice of well-built americana that gives you a taste of their emerging talent. "Reach The Shore" is a lush, folksy debut single - mixing pretty country with touches of Springsteen and stirring guitar slides, who knew Dudley had such a soulful side'. Not only that the world famous magazine made it their singles club track of the week. The duo both grew up in the small town of Dudley, in the heart of The Black Country, England.
Both experienced musicians they first met during a live music showcase in the West Midlands over 8 years ago and since then worked diligently on various music projects including various shows in the States and tours with the likes of Simple Minds & Blackberry Smoke.
During Late 2016 the duo re-united and spent the rest of that year writing and recording the material that has become Delta Howl.
Classic Rock Magazine once again have declared themselves fans of the duo. 'New single Mary is the second track to be released from an upcoming EP, due in August, and is an uplifting two-and-a-half minutes of lilting Americana that evokes thoughts of woozy days and hot summer nights, there's no doubting the bands talents'
'Mary' was recorded, mixed and mastered by the duo in their own studio. It’s the second single of a 4 track EP which is due to be released in late August of 2017. ‘It’s a song that sounds like the summer, it describes a crazy relationship but the best kind of crazy, we hope it transports the listener to a past, present & future time. One that looks happy and fun and that's what the song is all about, making people have a good time’ says vocalist Grant.
From the introductory piano & vocal to the bongo drums, slide guitars & the big sounding 'hey' backing vocals its easy to go along for the ride. The band's influences of Folk, Heartland Rock and Country are on show throughout the track and it’s evident to see that the audience will become enthralled to the catchy choruses and positivity of the song.
'Mary' will become a song that really does get stuck in your head.
